Prescriptions

You may obtain Prescription Only Medicine, Category V (POM-V) from us OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy.

A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an inpatient or if immediate treatment is necessary.

Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for animals under their care.

You will be informed on request of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.

The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions at least every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. For Anti-Parasitic medication we are required to assess an animal at least every 12 months.

We are legally only able to dispense a maximum of 3 months for repeat prescriptions medications and 6 months for anti-parasitic medications (Flea and worm treatment).

The standard charge for Veterinary Consultation is £62.00

The standard charge for a Veterinary Re-examination is £60.00

The standard charge for a written prescription is £29.00
